In the mentioned project, HSE Invest designed the application software, user interfaces for operators and trainers, ensured data collection and processing in the context of the required functionalities, provided user training, and is in charge of maintenance. The application software enables performing various real-time scenarios since the process data is acquired “live” from the production-process environment of the HSE Group companies.
The simulator is intended for the additional training of the operational and planning staff at the HSE control centre. It enables simulation of damage and normal scenarios, and, if required, their multiple repetition. Its main contribution is increased operational staff readiness and competence in their response to various operational situations of the HSE Group companies and beyond. The simulation environment can be used for analysing the economic indicators under specific production conditions, harmless testing of new operating modes and verifying new algorithms. The software is installed on the HSE control centre equipment and a dedicated controller, which communicate with each other using the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol.
